Wednesday 9 December, 10:00CET don’t miss the webinar “Agritech as a Key for Food Security“, organized by the Ambasciata d’Italia ad Abu Dhabi / Embassy of Italy in Abu Dhabi in UAE, the Khalifa University, and DUBAI FUTURE FOUNDATION. This promises to be an important talk on Agritech as a key for food security.
Aitronik will proudly give a joint talk with the Università degli Studi di Firenze AgriSmartLab entitled “Robotics and Agriculture: the new frontier for Sustainability and Resilience?”. This is a related talk on Agritech as a key for food security.
Aitronik and the University of Florence have an ongoing collaboration to fully automate farms. They will share the current state of robotic applications for agriculture. They will also discuss what they can jointly bring to innovate the agriculture scenario. Additionally, they will highlight how this can foster mutual collaboration between Italy and the United Arab Emirates. This collaboration emphasizes Agritech as a means for food security.
The Embassy of Italy to the UAE launched a new initiative titled InnovItalyUAE on September 16, 2020. They gave the speech as part of the initiative, which focuses on enhancing bilateral cooperation in innovation between Italy and the UAE.
The initiative is organized with the Khalifa University of Science and Technology. It is in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation. It focuses on the following sectors: cybersecurity, space research, smart cities, life sciences, renewable energy, circular economy, and food technologies.
A total of 6 online forums (one per sector) were organized to take place between September and December 2020. They included speakers from both countries in the academic and business sectors. The forums aim at comparing the Italian and Emirati experiences. They address common challenges and set the scope for increased partnership in the above sectors. These discussions promise to include talks such as Agritech as a key for food security.
His Excellency Nicola Lener, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, said: “We are pleased to begin this journey together with Khalifa University and in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, two of the pillars of innovation in the UAE. For our part, we are ready to involve the best energies from Italian institutions, research and industry. We view this as a way to further increase the quality of our relationships”.
